Hello! I’m glad you’re here!
A little about me…
My name is Sarah and my husband, Robby, and I have been married for five and a half years. We have three children, two girls and one boy. When my first born was eight weeks old, she began to have painful digestive issues. These problems caused her to scream every time I tried to latch her on to nurse. I was heartbroken and frantic, yet determined to save our breastfeeding relationship. My midwife at the time mentioned MSPI (Milk Soy Protein Intolerance) to me. This led me to research a dairy free and soy free diet. I quickly realized how much of what I was eating had dairy, soy, or both! At first, it was hard to know what I could and could not eat and I felt very lost and confused. However, through trial and error, I began to build a collection of recipes that our whole family loves and enjoys.
Why Simply Sarah Catherine?
I have started this blog to share these recipes and things I have learned along the way. My hope is that I can help another mama who may be struggling. I want to share with my readers that it is possible to nurse your baby without worrying about intolerances or allergies. Perhaps you yourself also feel better eating a dairy free, soy free diet. I have always been sensitive to dairy myself and feel better eating dairy free.
Whatever the reason, I’m glad you’re here! Follow me on Instagram and Pinterest for additional delicious dairy free, soy free recipes and inspiration.
More about me:
I love to bake sweet things (and even more to EAT the sweet things), so expect lots of sweet breakfast recipes, as well as desserts! However, I haven’t always loved cooking. I have learned to appreciate cooking meals at home and enjoy making delicious food for my family… it just took me a while to come around and sometimes it still feels like too much work!
My kids and I love to go for walks in the sunshine. My favorite weather is a cloudless blue sky, bright warm sunshine, and temperatures between 70-80 degrees.
I enjoy knitting and have been knitting for over ten years.
Growing up, I was homeschooled. I am loving our own homeschooling journey with our kids.
I am from Mississippi and currently reside in Alabama with my husband and children.
